Volkswagen Beetle

This is a 1974 Super Beetle garage find, second owner, survivor. All original paint, interior, and mechanical. No rust, dings, damage. The story I was told was that it belonged to an older gentleman who rarely drove it but frequently waxed it and always kept in the garage. Only 11,000 miles.

I tripped over this car on a for-sale ad on The Samba website in 2010. The description sounded too good to be true, but the seller assured me it was. A drive to Pittsburgh the next day confirmed my expectations. A deal was done and the car was trailered to Toronto the following week.

So, the moral of this story is that I found the exact replica and almost exact circumstances of my high school/university car 35 years later. A car that I criss-crossed Canada with, March-breaked in Florida and started my helicopter flying career. A lot of post-pubescent experiences and growing up stories and travelling memories. Not a big monetary investment, but huge priceless sentimental value that only I can truly appreciate.
