Pontiac Catalina Ole Hoss
About my car
I had a '63 Starlight Black Catalina tri-power 4-speed back in the day; and me and my girl dated in it. I had to sell it for us to get married. I never regretted getting married (we just celebrated our 54th anniversary), but I always regretted selling the car. In the mid '80's I tried to find the car to see if I could retrieve it, but I couldn't find it. It was probably wrecked and/or crushed. So, I began looking for one to replace it. I found this car in Hemmings 500 mi. away from home, and it was in pretty bad shape w/surface rust. I pulled it apart myself, & did all the mechanicals. I had a good friend who is a paint & body man & he did that, letting me help with the "grunt" work. I put it back exactly like the original car, and we finished it in 2005. It turned out pretty nice. My wife & I enjoy "dating" in it again. BTW, SHE is the one who suggested I take out a 2nd mortgage on the house to finish it. After 54 yrs., I think I'll keep her. :-)
- This car was made in 1963 and I've driven it since 1989
- The Pontiac Catalina (2nd Gen) was in production from 1961 to 1964
Sorry, I've been busy. I haven't made a post yet.
