About my car

Recently purchased a 2015 Platinum. I had a 2001 Tacoma TRD double cab prior, and my family just outgrew it.

Previous owner obviously put a lot into it, but needs a little TLC to bring back to its former glory...which I know sounds funny when referencing a 2015 model.

Parts list that I have sorted out included:

TRD supercharger.

Expedition One bumpers front & rear.

Baja Designs Squadron lights in the bumpers (need to get working).

Superwinch Talon 12.5 w/ synthetic rope and Factor 55 Pro link (missing control box).

Bushwhacker Extend-A-Fender flares.

Transfer Flow 46 gallon fuel tank.

Method 17" Standard wheels with 35x12.50 Toyo Open Country R/T tires.

FOX 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers in front.

Coachbuilder shackles in rear.

ESP rear under seat storage unit.

Custom Exhaust.

It also has Total Chaos dual shock hoops welded in (a very nice weld job, I must admit), but the bypass shocks are long gone, and it has factory control arms.

The stock rear shocks were on it, and I swapped those out with some basic FOX 2.0 shocks that a good buddy hooked me up with.

I ordered the winch controller parts and am in the process of fab'ing up a mount under the hood for the control box.

I've also ordered the harness parts from Baja Designs and intend to wire in the front bumper lights to the factory fog light switch.

I intend to wire up the rear bumper lights to go on with the cargo light switch.

Also need to sort out what all is up with the speaker system. My Tacoma had a nice stereo in it (MB Quart door speaker w/ JL subs & amp), and this one is pretty disappointing...although I don't think everything is working quite right. Definitely want to keep the factory head unit integrated in.

Picked up a couple of spare tires on stock 18"steel wheels, and need to figure out how and where I am going to mount them. Might be fab'ing up a bed rack, as I doubt one will fit in the stock spare location.

My biggest project in the near future will be fab'ing up skid plates, as it is currently naked underneath. Looking at 3/16" steel plate from front past the transfer case, and may even beef up the bottom side of the Transfer Flow tank.

  • This car was made in 2015 and I've driven it since 2017
  • The Toyota Tundra (II) has been in production since 2007
