Pontiac Firebird FuryBird
About my car
I traded a 94' mustang gt 5speed for the firebird not knowing the condition or if it would even run. It was a pretty risky shot but I figured it would be a fun project to help teach my friend about cars. I picked it up and originally thought it had the stock 305 which turned out to be a 69' 400sbc with a 4 bolt main paired with a Saginaw 4 speed tranny.
As of right now I've stripped the interior and got new seats for it and am currently cutting the floor out on the drivers side due to rust. I figured it was a good time to take care of it since it's out of commission since I put a complete new starting system and the new starter found a soft spot in the old flywheel and stripped the teeth.
Over the winter I plan to put a mild cam, work on the interior and electrical. Definitely open to suggestions on about everything on the car. Have been looking into bracing and doing a moderate roll cage.
Let me know what you think, all advice welcome and would love to hear what others have done and tried.
- This car was made in 1984 and I've driven it since 2016
- The Pontiac Firebird (3rd Gen) was in production from 1982 to 1992
Sorry, I've been busy. I haven't made a post yet.
