Chevrolet Standard Six Mabel
About my car
"Mabel" is our 1936 Chevrolet Standard Town Sedan. She sits on a heavily modified original frame.
Rear suspension consists of a 8.8 Ford rear axle hung from an owner-designed and built triangulated 4-bar. Firestone air bags set the ride height.
Front suspension is composed of Air Ride Technologies Mustang II tubular A-Arms attached to a Fatmans crossmember.
Air Ride is controlled by an Accuair E-level system running 2 Viair compressors.
Drivetrain is composed of a stock 5.3 LS motor from a 2005 Avalanche and a 4L60e transmission.
The car has 4-wheel disc brakes and Hydroboost. The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrusts (CL205s) in 20" rear and 17" front.
The main body is steel and has a 3" chop top. The rear fenders, running boards and deck lid are fiberglass. Rear fenders are 2" wider than stock. The car has power windows and Vintage Air A/C and heat. An Ididit shorty column handles the steering.
Future plans call for taking her back apart for frame-off body and paint work, then the addition of leather interior.
