Chevrolet C/K the white knight
About my car
This is my daily driver/baby. I got this truck about 6 years ago when I was in high school after my pos ford quit on me.I got the truck from a local car lot when I was 17. I originally saw it when my brother was picking up his first z71.I knew I had to have it. Well my folks decide to help me buy it with the understanding that I would pay them back and I have since done so. When we got to the place the truck was gone I just knew someone had bought it. Turns out the mechanic there was just test driving it after changing the brakes.Needless to say it came home with us. I drove the truck for 2 years before my first hurdle with this truck. The original 4l80e after having a 198000 hard drove miles put on it finally gave up. It was changed out for a monster rebuilt 4l80e that came out of a wrecked 6.5 truck. I don't remember the miles but they were very very low. This transmission is still in the truck and holding up very well. The original engine lost oil pressure at 210,000 miles on it. I put that engine through some rough treatment on top of what was already done to it so I'm surprised it held up like it did. This engine was replaced with a later engine. Now comes the other goodies. I decided I wanted to open the exhaust up a bit. Up until this point the exhaust was pretty much stock. This was resolved with a set of Flowtech short tubes which flow through a high flow cat that then went through a single in dual out glasspack originally but I was never happy with it so it was swapped for a cb extreme again single in dual out. This exhaust has a good note with out being trashy and obnoxiously loud and still passes emissions. Now lets move on to the cosmetic goodies. I put a set of stepbars on it because I like them and I wanted a set. The rims came from my vandalized 95 and were a direct swap. They are Moto Metals 951 black. They are somewhat common around here but no where near as much as bullet holes or other me to rims.I also swapped out the side view mirrors for a newer 95 up set for a more streamlined look. This truck isn't a show queen but it is rust free and is the only vehicle I won't sell or get rid of.
