Ford Maverick The Blue Dragon

About my car

Why the blue dragon you ask? Well, the blue part is obvious. Well, the rest is too, after all, it's a fire breathing monster!

This is my 1971 Ford maverick, owned since 2007, I've been driving it for 2 years now, it is my first car!

In 2007, my parents bought this car for$300! It had a blown up 200 6 cylinder, a broken tow strap, and a few floor holes. The next day, my dad and I put in a different 200 we had in the shop, and it was back on the road!

That motor eventually got too tired, as it was also an original maverick motor, so we replaced it with a rebuilt 200, and we even swapped out the suspension from 4 lug to 5 lug, with bigger drum brakes! But that motor never ran well either, so in the summer of 2013, we decided to quit fooling around with six's and throw in a 302!

By this time, we had already known it was going to be my car. I was only 14-15 at the time. I had put most of my time towards it, and couldn't have been happier with my car! But, as I drove more and more, the motor grew tired. Was an old one, after all. So this time, we decided to go bigger. 351w.

The summer of 2015, I spent working at my grandma's, making money to build my motor. It's a mild 351w, big intake, big cam, and a high volume oil pump with headers. Takes absolutely nothing to chirp the tires, on dry pavement.

This car is the product of a father having a little too much fun with his father/son projects, this car is my first car, and this car is my baby! My plan is to keep this car until the grave stops me!
