My garage: Dodge Ram Truck

About my car

This is my Truck. Everything you see on it or about it's appearance I did with my own hands and although the fluids, filters, grease and oils are all maintained perfectly, it has never been washed. It lives on a farm and goes camping often. I lifted it, painted it, put the bumpers and lights on it and added some minor things to the engine and exhaust, etc., to make it breathe easier, run longer and get better mileage. No electronic enhancements "tuners," just mechanical for the 5.9 Cummins Diesel engine.

I will not list brands because I chose them based on low price/on sale, not marketing. They all work about the same in my opinion. It has aftermarket cold air intake, intake manifold, high performance lift pump, removed turbo silencer, and a straight pipe. I also installed a rear differential cover that adds more oil to protect the 4.10 gears which are known to overheat a bit on hot days on the road. It cruises nicely at 73mph and 2000rpm, but any faster and things will get hot.

It has a long arm, 6 inch lift kit that keeps the driving profile identical to stock. I raised the rear to keep the same profile so that towing does not drop the ass end. It rides like a sports car. I also replaced the front end with the new/upgraded parts from Dodge from the Ball Joints out to the Steering Box/arms and Tie Rod Ends. This thing is a Tank and absolutely stable with no "death wobble" under any conditions.

I bought it with 58,000 miles and it has over 200,000 on it today. Not one problem or issue. I dump a can of Sea Foam in the Diesel at every other fill up and the injectors are perfect and it gets 17mpg even with the 35 inch Toyo Tires. Towing or not. I love my truck and will not buy another unless it is stolen or crashed. I fully plan to get a million miles out of it. The only problem I have ever had is that the right rear passenger window won't roll down. I'll take a small electrical issue over engine trouble any day. :-)

Oh yeah. The bumpers are from Iron Bull (since everyone always asks.) The front is called "The lock and load." It can take out a moose. lol (This brand is as strong and way less expensive than Road Armor.)

I don't litter so the back is full of crap. 2 camp chairs, a lock bar, spare tire and a High Lift jack. I will buy a winch someday, but I'm a pretty good driver and don't get stuck much. The High Lift will suffice for now. :-)

PS. I own it.
  • This car was made in 2004 and I've driven it since 2005
  • The Dodge Ram (3rd Gen) was in production from 2001 to 2009

Sorry, I've been busy. I haven't made a post yet.
