I haven't been doing too much to the car lately. I decided to pick up a second job until my wife gets back to work. Well Sunday I wanted to go take her for a spin.
One of the reasons I have not been driving it is I have the front fenders/bumper off to make it easy to get to the upper control arms to adjust the camber when I align it. Firestone decided that they were no longer going to honor their lifetime alignment I purchased 2 years ago because I have "modified" my suspension. (It was that way when I bought the lifetime alignment and wasn't a issue the last 2 times but that's another story).
So I haven't aligned it yet, and because of that I have been delaying putting on my used but good BFG rival 2 tires. The tires on the car a very worn.
I had to be at my second job for a short meeting at 8pm. I took the crx. On the way home it started raining. Knowing the tires were shot I slowed down and was going 45 in a 65. Not slow enough . . . . The road curved slight left, I turned the wheel, the car didn't respond. It went straight. I tried throttle, I tried brakes. I crossed across the "emergency lane" and sideswiped the guardrail.
Car isn't hurt too bad but my pride is damaged. Good news is the ft bumper and fender are fine lol. RF rim, passenger door, RR quarter all took a hit. I couldn't do anything once the slide began. :(
