Back from Engine Upgrades 

Well, I got Silverback home last Thursday night at 10pm and spent the entire day Friday getting him ready for Corvette Invasion in Austin on Saturday. Jeremiah at Muscle Cars of Austin did a kick a$$ job on the engine and suspension upgrades. I've listed some of the upgrades before but thought I'd show some pics of the engine bay before and after. The look is great but the performance change is fantastic.

A summary of the major changes:

Took the engine down to the short block since it was a recently bored .030 454 block with eagle crank and rods, Speed Pro pistons, and a CompCam Magnum 280HR cam.

Added:

Edelbrock Aluminum high compression Performer RPM heads

Edelbrock Performer RPM dual plane intake

Edelbrock E-Street 2 EFI system

Edelbrock E-Street paired distributor

New fuel system including Deatschwerks pump/filter and complete return line to tank (I didn't go with the Edelbrock Sump for space reasons)

Eddie Motorsports S-Drive Polished Serpentine System with polished, alternator, pwr steering pump, and AC compressor.

Used the Dakota Digital Fan Controller to control the dual electric fans.

Monster Transmission SS Mega Monster 700R4 transmission

Gutted the wiring from under the hood and rewired everything to clean up the wiring and use new loom.

I did the calculation on compression ratio based on all the specs and it looks like we hit our target. We're sitting at 9.98:1 and I was hoping to get to 10:1.

The next step is get it on a dyno so we can dial in the tuning if necessary. The E-street system auto learns but we want to see if we can do better with manual tuning. I'll report the power numbers after that.
