Florida Staycation

When your friends invite you to an adults only weekend 110 miles away and you can choose between driving the wife's BMW and the Hammer it's a no brainer!! Driving South from Miami to the Lower keys we left early, the highways were empty and my tank was full. It was nice cruising along at 💯 but kinda boring because the few cars I passed up weren't going past 70 but driving North was a whole different story. Leaving the Keys early is a common thing with tourists and usually causes traffic, I know this but still chose to leave early. Half the trip North was spent in 35 mph bumper to bumper and there are places where I was able to get up to 50! Once we hit the Turnpike it was time to open it up.... cruising at 80-90 in and out of traffic I see a Mercedes speeding and ripping through traffic.... finally a player! I zipped up to him going 100 when he starts to pull away. Great!! I let him stretch his legs before I dropped the hammer on him. Once the hammer dropped it was over before it begun! At 💯 the car speeds up like if your still in 3rd or 4th gear and slingshots you to 120-130 on the next shift and pulls strong throughout. So as i pulled up and passed up the benz a motor cycle starts to come into the game so I pushed the pedal a little harder and caught up to this bike going over 💯. The guy looked over at the hammer in disbelief and opened up his bike....the hammer handles like it's on rails and this bike was about to get demonstration! Through predominantly open roads and sweeping turns I continued giving it the throttle and enjoying every second of it. After a moment it was clear the bike had let off and the benz was no where to speak of. The hammer punctuates yet another trip that would have otherwise been spent drivin behind the pack in the Beemer or the mule.
