Attempting seat re upolstry when you don't have any experience!
I have a 1955 chevy with bucket seats from a Cadillac! It's tough to find anyone around there parts willing to tackle custom jobs and if they do they throw out an outrageous price because it is something they did not want to mess with anyway! I drew out a design and presented it to a friend Kathy who is the owner of Crystal Coast Interior located in Newport, NC! She specializes in large boats and yacht interior! She took the factory leather off the seat and I added foam in the shape I had in my plans! She cut out the pattern and sewed it up with stretchers but advised me she had never dealt with auto custom seats! Soooo I added foam and stretched and it turned out ok for my first time! Pic 1 was the start and Pic 8 is the completed one! Back seat here I come! On pic 2 I vinyl died the plastic control panel that matched good! My last coat I pulled Mack and misted it on so it would have a bit of a texture to it! I have a lot of respect for interior guys now it was a frustrating job!🤗
