The making of a dragon truck
I have driven Artcars exclusively for the past 27 years. I've had probably 12 different cars over the years all have been artcars. I bought this truck new in 04, it was just a white f150. It took me two years to decide what to transform it into I had decided on making it into a P-40 airplane from the indo-china war. Painted the mouth and some eyes and then my daughter who was 4 asked what it was going to be. She didn't like the airplane idea so I asked her what I should do, she said I should make it into a fairy. I told her I'm not driving around in a big fairy, especially since I wear only kilts (threw all my pants away and I make my own kilts) so she suggested a butterfly, no I said so she thought about it for a minute and said how about a dragon. I decided why not. There is about 30 cans of spray foam over 50 horns and antlers and over 3500 lights. It has taken 10 years to get it to this point. The truck gets a new paint job every year around March to get ready for the Houston Artcar Parade. Last year it was green next year who knows what color. I'll add pictures of the truck from time to time because it is always a work in progress.
