Why do I need to create an account on Drivn?
In order to create a car profile, write stories about your car, and comment on other members’ cars and posts.
How do I create an account?
Creating an account is very straightforward. Hit the ‘Sign Up’ button and then sign up with your Facebook account or an existing email address.
How do I confirm my account?
We will send a confirmation link to your email address. This ensures spammers cannot create a fake account using your details.
I’ve forgotten my password! What can I do?
Click the "Forgot password" link, enter your email address and we’ll email you simple instructions on how to reset your password.
What is ‘Following Cars?’
‘Following Cars’ reflects how many cars you are following – all updates about these cars will appear on your feed.
How do I stop getting email notifications?
Go to Accounts Settings, click on Preferences and following the instructions
What are the first three things I should do after signing up to Drivn?
- To show us what you drive, create a car profile and be sure to include lots of pictures.
- Make new friends by following other members and follow some awesome cars (Following Cars).
- Write a post. Tell us about you, your car, your latest road trip or the last event you attended. And be sure to upload plenty of pictures.
What should I put on my profile?
Use the ‘About me’ section on your personal profile to tell us as much about yourself as you want to share. Most importantly, though, we want to know about the cars you like and what you get out of driving. The more information you provide, the deeper the connections you’ll be able to build with other members and the more followers you will attract.
What is My Garage?
My Garage is where you store your cars, including all the cars you drive now and have previously driven.
How do I add a car to my garage?
Click the "Add Car" button, which can be found on the homepage and in your profile page, and follow the instructions under ‘Add Car Profile’.
I can’t find my car! How can I add it to my garage?
Select ‘Other Makes’ in the Makes section, enter the car’s full name, and we’ll add it to the system.
Can I add a car that’s not my own?
No! You must only add your own car, whether you currently drive it or have owned it in the past.
Can I add any vehicle I want, like a motorbike, mobility scooter or a skateboard?
No! You can only add a car.
Can I add my old cars to my garage?
Yes! We’d love to know what other cars you have driven. Add your old models and mark them as your “previous” cars. We’ll be able to see what you drive and what you’ve driven in the past. And don’t forget to upload photos of those old cars.
How many cars can I add to my profile?
As long as you own them now or have owned them in the past, you can add as many cars as you want to your profile.
How can I find a particular car on Drivn?
Click ‘Cars’ at the top of the homepage to find the make and model of the car you’re looking for.
What kind of car pictures should I upload?
The kinds of pictures you’d like to see! Dramatic and clear shots of exteriors. Inviting photographs of interiors. Mods and changes you’ve made to your cars, including pictures of your car undergoing restoration. Any car picture that you think someone else would enjoy viewing and might just share. We want to see it. But do make sure that the pictures you place on your car profile are yours and show your car. We know what your model looks like; we want to see what your car looks like.
What should I put in the “car nickname” field?
A “car nickname” is like a username for your car. Whatever you drive, you can be sure that your car won’t be the only model of its type on Drivn. Giving your car its own name will help it to stand out and make it easy to identify. For example, you might want to call your car "The Beast," "Blue Boy" or "Betsy” if you want. You don’t have to give your car a nickname, but you’ll probably find it useful to do so.
How do I delete a car?
Click ‘Edit Car’ on your car page and press the delete icon at the bottom of the page. You can then remove the car from the site. Remember that if you’ve sold your car or no longer drive it, you can still keep it in your garage by changing its status to “previous drive”.
What are Posts?
Posts can be a short status updates or a full-length story. From sharing your latest pictures of the car to making modifications, Posts is where you can keep members updated about your ride.
How can I create a post?
Simply click ‘Add Post’ and start writing! After adding a title you are free to write as little or as much as you want. All that we ask is that you add pictures and/or a video. To add a picture, click on the picture icon at the top of the page, and select a picture from your personal folder. To add a video, simply paste YouTube or Vimeo URL.
How do I delete a post I created?
On the post page, click the Update Post icon next to the title of the post and hit the Delete icon at the bottom of the page.
How can I attract new followers?
To make your profile stand out and win followers, there are a number of things you can do. The more pictures you post — and the better pictures you post — the easier it will be for other members to connect with you. You should also create regular posts that will turn up frequently in news feeds. These will build interest in you, and enable you to win comments and pick up new followers. Following and interacting with other members, by asking — and answering — questions, is another way of increasing your popularity with Drivn members.
What is my car’s Octane?
Your car’s Octane is essentially a measurement of its popularity. Using metrics such as how often you update posts with new stories about your car, frequency of comments written and received, number of followers, and how often you visit the site, your Octane is automatically calculated and regularly updated.
How can I improve my car’s Octane?
Your car’s Octane is linked to how active you are on the site and how much effort you’ve put into your car profile. Follow these tips to improve your Octane:
Create a car profile using high quality pictures and an interesting story about your car.
Regularly update posts with new stories and pictures about anything to do with your car.
The more cars you comment on and follow, the more attention your car will get!
This will help you attract more followers and comments, increasing your car’s popularity, and in turn increasing its Octane.
Why is my car’s Octane increasing so slowly?
Your car’s Octane is linked to how active you are on the site. To increase it, post stories in posts more regularly, and make sure to comment and follow other cars as much as possible
Where do I see my Octane index progress?
Your Octane is displayed on your car profile, and when browsing other cars you will see it appear in a circle.
What is Car of the Day?
Every day, ten cars will be selected for our daily Car of the Day competition. Drivn members will then have 24 hours to vote for their favorite car.
How are the candidates selected?
The most popular cars, based on their Octane level, are automatically entered into Car of the Day.
How is the winner selected?
Car of the Day is held from (12:00 am) midnight to (11:59 pm) midnight (EST, New York time). The car that receives the most votes after 24 hours later, wins and is announced at midnight. A new competition then begins.
I don’t have a supercar, can I still win Car of the Day?
Whether you have a Ford Focus or Ferrari 488 GTB, every car has the same chance of winning. A Ford Focus with lots of followers and a great car profile will have a higher Octane than a Ferrari 488 GTB with just a few followers and a boring car profile, and will therefore have a better chance of winning Car of the Day.
How many cars can I vote for when playing Car of the Day?
Each member can vote for one car each day.
Can I vote for my own car?
No, you can only vote for other members’ cars.
How can I improve my chances of winning?
The more interesting your car profile is, the better chance you have of winning. Follow these hints and tips to enhance your car profile and your chances of winning Car of the Day:
Your car profile should have high quality pictures and include an interesting story about your car.
The more pictures you have on your car profile, the better.
Regularly update posts with new and interesting posts about anything to do with your car.
Comment on and follow other users and their cars, and they will do the same to you!
Remember, the more exposure your car has, the more chance it has of winning!
How many pictures can I add to my car profile?
You must add at least one picture and can add up to 15 pictures in total. The first picture you select will be the car’s cover picture.
How many pictures can I include in a post?
You can add up to 25 pictures in a post.
What size and format of pictures can I add?
You can upload images in .jpg, .bmp and .png formats. There is no size limit but pictures must be at least W500xH250 for post pictures and W750xH250 for car profile pictures. Drivn was designed to help car enthusiasts show off their rides so we left plenty of space for large images
Who can see my posts and pictures?
All content published on Drivn is public. The posts and pictures that you place on the site can be seen by anyone.
Who can follow me?
Drivn is a public platform. Anyone is free to become a member, after which they can follow you on the site and receive your posts in their news feeds.
What do I do if I think my copyright has been infringed?
We take copyright very seriously. If you think someone is using your intellectual property without your permission, write to us at contact@drivn.com or use the contact us form. Be sure to include a link to the content in question. We can’t adjudicate on copyright infringement but our general policy is to contact the poster and to remove the content or make it inaccessible.
Why has my account been suspended?
There are number of actions that might lead to an account being suspended:
Threatening behavior
Threats against people or property are not tolerated. Threats made in posts, comments or other media will cause the account to be suspended and may result in police action.
Harassment, hate speech and abuse
Drivn members are welcome to chat freely, discuss cars and argue fiercely in favor of their favorite models. However, abusive behavior, hate speech and repeatedly bombarding other members with unwanted messages is not acceptable.
Graphic content, nudity and pornography
We want Drivn to be a comfortable place to browse. We don’t want to see graphic posts, videos and images. Nor do we want to see any pornography; the only thing naked on the site should be the cars.
Spam
Accounts that are used solely to send repeated and unwanted commercial messages to our members will not be allowed.
Copyright infringement
Repeatedly violating copyright will lead to account deactivation.
Privacy issues
Many of Drivn’s members own expensive cars and don’t want the world to know who or where they are. We expect our members to respect their desire for privacy and not to publicize the personal information of other members on the site.
